Our worship leader is resigning at the end of 2025. Christmas Eve will be his final service with us. We are searching for a new worship leader who will preferably begin in November to provide a time of overlap and transition.

Church Description: Summit Church is a multigenerational church that seeks to reach Southwest Boise with the gospel. Our vision is “making lifelong followers of Jesus who become more like Him every day.” We use a spiritual formation model of discipleship built around 3 components: practicing 5 spiritual disciplines, connecting to a small group, and reaching others with the gospel. Worship is one of the 5 spiritual disciplines we encourage everyone at Summit to practice. Our worship style is mostly modern and contemporary with some hymns scattered in.

Church Size: average weekly in-person attendance of 300

Job Type: Part-Time; 15 hours/week to be used as follows
• 5 hours for Sunday morning worship
• 3 hours for Thursday night rehearsal
• 7 hours discretionary for personal practice, song selection, recruiting, admin tasks, meeting with team members, etc.

Compensation:$25,000-30,000 depending on education and experience

Organizational Structure: The Worship Leader will report to the Lead Pastor. He will interact with the Production Manager each week in designing the service.

Job Description and Responsibilities: We believe worship is participatory. The worship team is not performing for the congregation. Rather, they lead the congregation into giving worship to God. We are seeking a passionate and skilled part-time Worship Leader to lead our congregation in Christ-centered worship. The ideal candidate will have a heart for Jesus, be spiritually mature, musically gifted, and experienced in leading both worship teams and the church body into authentic encounters with God through music. Primary responsibilities include:
• Plan, lead, and oversee worship services in collaboration with the pastoral team
• Lead worship vocally and instrumentally
• Recruit, train, and shepherd volunteer musicians and vocalists
• Coordinate and run weekly rehearsals with the worship team
• Select worship songs that align with the church’s vision and theological values
• Collaborate with our production manager to ensure smooth worship experiences
• Cultivate a culture of excellence, humility, and unity within the worship team

Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Excellent proficiency in keyboard and/or acoustic guitar (must lead instrumentally)
• Experience in leading a full band in live worship settings
• Solid foundation in music theory, including understanding of chord charts, transposition, and song structure • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to engage the congregation and encourage participatory worship
• A growing relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with the church’s statement of faith

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with worship planning software (e.g., Planning Center)
• Familiarity with contemporary Christian worship styles (e.g., Elevation, Hillsong, Bethel, etc.)
• Basic understanding of sound systems, stage management, or live production
